Turkish Cultural Centre – Ottawa
The Turkish community in its efforts to contribute to Canadian society established Northern Lights Educational Services (NLES) in Ottawa on Nov 29, 2004. In 2006, a two-storey building located at 26 Thorncliff Place was leased to accommodate growing community needs.
The property at 26 Thorncliff Place has been a Turkish Community Centre since then. NLES in its limited capacity has been organizing many activities in this building. There is now an urgent need to expand on these activities and provide a permanent place for future generations in Ottawa.
The NLES Board of Directors has decided to purchase the property at 26 Thorncliff Place. Upon purchasing the building renovations have taken place to provide expanded services.
Renovations have been possible thanks to the contributions of the Ontario Trillium Foundation. The Ontario Trillium Foundation is an agency of the Government of Ontario.
